Week One

I thought week one of Editing class was very enjoyable. We watched a movie called The Cutting Edge. I thought it was excellant because it really gave an insight to how important an editor is to the film process. He or she literally spends the most time with the Director in post-production. In a lot of ways, the editor is the maker of the final cut of the film. A director can have awesome footage but if its edited poorly, you will not have a good film. I like how the movie depicted editing as like a puzzle. My favorite part of the film was all the interviews with directors and how they felt about editing. I actually plan on purchasing the movie for my personal collection because I believe it is a very beneficial film for aspiring filmmakers to have.
